Reflection on Academic Writing

I spent most of my time only fixing and correcting my essays for English Assessment Task 3, but for me, it was all worth it since I found many things that were surprising and challenging for me. What was surprising for me was that I never knew that writing could be so much useful. This assessment forced me to search for some sources as evidences for my arguments and research statements of course, and from that I learned many things, including new things about the topic. What was challenging for me was fixing the structures. I fixed it for several times already, but when I reread it, I still did not find it amusing.

I learned many things from this assessment. Firstly, now I know about the features present in an iPod and an MP3 player and how they work. This knowledge surely would help me in the future if I want to buy one someday. I learned quite lots of things about academic writing as well. Academic writings consist of many types including research essay, comparing and contrast essay, and reaction essay. Besides that, this assessment also helped me a lot in knowing how to organize the topic sentences into good paragraphs.

I am most proud of my full essay about comparing and contrasting iPods and MP3 players. I never knew that comparing those two things was not that hard. There are many similarities and differences between them which could be the useful references for me to work on my essay. I am proud of it because for me, this piece was the most successful piece of all.

I can improve my writing by fixing the structures carefully. I have to read my future papers several times to see whether the structures are good or not, since structures are essential to create an amazement for the audience. I also have to learn more about organizing topic sentences into well-structured paragraphs, or else my future papers would be a failure.

Actually I did not have any specific failures with my works. I was only having troubles with structures, like explained above. My success was my full essay. As explained above, I never knew that writing good-looking complete essays was not too hard.

So, in conclusion, I am satisfied that I have finished this assessment on time without any distractions. I have learned many things from this assessment, by revising my specific troubles with the structures, and I learned many things about academic writing, especially the types of it. This assessment has helped me a lot in improving my writings after all.
